Mark Zuckerberg spars Alexander Volkanovski in the Metaverse
Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder, released a video of him sparring with UFC fighter Alexander Volkanovski in the Metaverse, Facebook’s version of virtual reality.
The two men wore MMA gloves and motion capture suits as they performed punches, kicks, and wrestling moves, both in real life and as animated characters in the virtual environment.
Zuckerberg is a big fan of MMA, as he has previously mentioned in an interview with UFC legend Joe Rogan.
During the spar, Zuckerberg jokingly said, “Alright, that was fun playing around now let’s actually go for it.” At the end of the video, Volkanovski tackles Zuckerberg to the floor using a double leg takedown.
In October, UFC fighter Mackenzie Dern revealed that Zuckerberg had bought out an entire event, but the UFC president, Dana White, denied the claims.
However, when UFC Vegas 61 arrived, Zuckerberg and his wife were seen sitting in the front row with White and watching the card at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, and neither fans no press were present.
Mark Zuckerberg appeared to have enjoyed himself, but the same cannot be said for Chan, who went viral due to her humorous reactions to the fights.
